Barco Njord Cinemascope. The even better successor of the Barco Wodan.
Barco Njord Cinemascope
Njord was the god of wind, seafarers, coasts and inland waters. He was credited with the ability to calm waters and extinguish fires. This is Barco’s take on the Njord. The Barco Njord Cinemascope has a pleasant, calm and steady image. But it also has the power to handle most rooms with ambient light, and is designed for large screens or environments with lots of ambient light, such as outdoor entertainment spaces and modern homes with lots of glass. You, the customer, will mainly benefit from an incredibly bright and detailed image with spectacular color fidelity for the most demanding image enjoyment.
The Barco Njord Cinemascope has inherited much from its predecessor Wodan, but the entire light source and part of the optical engine have been completely redesigned to be smaller, more efficient and most importantly optimized for perfect cinema color, coupled with a powerful 2.37:1 DLP engine. Thanks to its exceptional design, Cinemascope film can be shown without the need for an anamorphic lens.
Key Facts:
The light source and optical motor have been completely redesigned compared to the older Barco Wodan model, made smaller and more efficient, and most importantly optimized for perfect cinemascope color.
The Barco Njord Cineascope features a pleasant and uniform image that lights up large Cinemascope screens while delivering an incredibly detailed image with spectacular color fidelity – an unparalleled experience that will delight even the most demanding customers.
Single Step Processing SSP™: SSP is a hardware and software-based platform that simplifies the signal, allowing it to travel from source to screen much faster and more efficiently. Barco uses advanced image processing technology to display the image on the screen without artifacts and with the lowest possible delay (<20 ms for all image processing); this is made possible by Single Step Processing (SSP™).
State-of-the-art electronics: all new Pulse electronics are designed to process 4K with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2. The optical engine uses the latest 0.9-inch DMD DLP chipset that puts 5,120 x 2,160 pixels on the screen.
The Barco Njord Cineascope also features HDR, motorized lenses and Barco’s unique RealColor processing, which allows for easy and accurate calibration to any desired color standard or white point.
Njord Cinemascope offers 5K UHD resolution (5,120 x 2,160) for superior image quality. Thanks to its modular design with only five assemblies, Njord CS is easy to maintain. Barco Njord Cinemascope is the most compact and robust Cinemascope projector on the market with a light output of 9,000 lumens.
Laser Light Source: Outstanding image quality also requires an exceptional light source. That’s why Barco has equipped the Njord CS with a brand new laser engine that significantly improves image uniformity (95%) over the previous model. The Njord CS uses specially selected lasers to ensure that DCI/P3 color space can be delivered.
Lasers last longer than conventional projector lamps, are not as sensitive, and can be turned on and off almost instantly.
